Our Service to You

Get the support you need

Family Therapy

Family therapy can help you resolve such issues as trust, confidence, anger, jealousy, sexual issues, and poor communication. It may be carried out with children, a couple, siblings, or parents and children, or any of these in combination.

The bond of trust and respect between the client and the counsellor is the key to achieving positive change. G.C.L.S. uses a proactive yet non-directive style of therapy providing you with skills you can use in your daily life.

Communication is key in relationships

Many people think of communication simply as verbal communication, a straightforward way to get their message across to others. However, the message you think you are sending can often be misinterpreted. Non-verbal communication represents over 90% of the communication process.

Getting help with communication problems

Good communication skills don’t always come naturally. Poor communication skills can unintentionally create barriers. G.C.L.S. can help you become an effective communicator in your personal and professional life.

Choosing a service

G.C.L.S. provides both a face-to-face and an online service, supporting clients to recognise and develop their capabilities within a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Counselling

Counselling takes place when a counsellor sees you in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty or distress you are experiencing, or perhaps your dissatisfaction with life. Counselling provides an opportunity for you to talk things over with an objective person, who can help you to be more capable of solving the problem.

G.C.L.S. uses counselling methodologies which are integrative, and include person-centred and cognitive approaches.

Examples of areas for which G.C.L.S. offers counselling include anger, depression, dysfunctional relationships, bereavement, lack of confidence and self-esteem, career, heterosexual marital issues, eating disorders, and post traumatic stress.

Counselling Supervision

Counselling supervision helps trainee counsellors and more experienced counsellors to become more efficient in their work. It provides a container where the supervisee can be supported, validated, inspired and challenged in order to promote growth. It is also an arena for teaching skills, strategies and providing understanding.

Lifecoaching

Life coaching is a practical technique which is used to enhance your abilities. It explores the changes which need to be applied to your current situation in order for you to attain your personal goals.

Unlike counselling, life coaching is forward looking, building on past experiences. The service offered by G.C.L.S. is customised, specially designed to meet your personal or business needs.
